BANNOCKBURN, IL (December 15, 2025) – Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU) and the GLCU Foundation for Financial Empowerment are proud to announce the impact of their recent winter giveback campaigns, including their annual winter coat drive, holiday giveback campaign, and Giving Tuesday donation drive.

GLCU collected more than 850 items for the community through its annual coat drive. During the month of November, GLCU placed donation boxes in its branches and corporate headquarters and asked its members and employees to donate gently used or new winter items for children, women, and men. GLCU partnered with Cradles to Crayons and The Dwelling Place of Vermilion County to distribute items to the Chicagoland and Danville communities, respectively.

“GLCU is thankful for those who donated coats and other winter items this year,” said Patrick Basler, Chief Experience Officer at GLCU. “Helping those in need stay warm during the winter season is a key part of our banking for a greater good mission.”

GLCU is also pleased to announce that it awarded $250 to 15 members as part of its holiday giveback campaign. To enter, members filled out a form explaining what an extra $250 would mean to them this holiday season.

Lastly, the GLCU Foundation would like to thank those who donated to its Giving Tuesday campaign. Each donation made will go toward making a difference in the communities the GLCU Foundation serves.

“We’re grateful for the support that the GLCU Foundation received this year,” said Matthew Rizzie, Executive Director of the GLCU Foundation. “We’re looking forward to continuing to make a meaningful impact in 2026.”

There’s still time to support the GLCU Foundation this year. You can make an impact by making a donation on the GLCU Foundation’s Givebutter page.
